Shipping:
Shipping costs are automatically calculated for each order based on the size and weight of the items within your order. Local customers may also opt to pick up their order in our retail store. We package and ship all orders no later than the end of the next business day upon order confirmation. You will receive a package tracking number at that time. In store pick up orders will be ready the morning of the next day in which our retail store is open. Our store is located in downtown Northville Michigan at the address below.
Returns:
We are happy to offer returns on all items within 30 days of purchase. The customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping unless the reason for the return is the fault of Colors Of The Wood. Custom orders and items laser engraved with a personal message are not eligible for returns or refund.
Laser Engraving:
Colors Of The Wood owns and operates a laser engraving machine with which we offer custom personalization services. Most of our items can be laser engraved the message of your choice. Names, dates, company logos, you name it! We charge a standard rate of $10 for laser engraving services. However, this fee may vary based on the quality and scope of the project. We unfortunately cannot offer any returns or refunds on laser engraved items. Please reach out to us for more information about laser engraving including design and ordering options.
Items Not In Stock:
Interested in an item or pattern from our website that is not in stock? Not to worry! We keep a similar yet separate inventory in our retail store and might just have more of that item you had your eye on. Even if we are sold out of a particular item, there is still hope. We are busy building in the workshop every week and can give you a good indication as to when a particular item will be back in stock!
Care Instructions:
Care for your new piece is very easy! All of our food grade items including cutting boards, serving trays, and charcuterie boards, are pre-treated with a proprietary blend of mineral oil, beeswax, carnauba wax, and coconut oil. Feel free to wash your board by scrubbing it clean with soap and water. After washing, wipe your board dry with a towel. Please do not ever put your board in the dishwasher! From time to time, based on use, you will find it beneficial to re-treat your board with more Colors Of The Wood treatment or another cutting board protective finish of your choice. Items such as coasters, bottle openers, and wine racks are finished with a clear coat of polycrylic, so they can simply be wiped clean as needed with a damp towel. The protective finish on these items is water resistant and will not need to be reapplied.
Custom Projects:
While we typically try to keep within the scope of our standard kitchen and home decor realm, we are always interested in exploring the feasibility of custom built projects, whether it be a specific size, pattern, or a completely new item. Please feel free to reach out to us and let us know what you had in mind. While we can’t always take on a custom build, we are always excited to explore the potential project with you.
Client/Corporate Gifts:
We truly enjoy working with other great businesses to fill your needs for unique functions, and memorable client or corporate gifts. Weddings:
It is always a true honor to be a small part of your special day or someone you may know! Colors Of The Wood is lucky to be on both sides of the wedding. We truly enjoy building customized gifts for the bride and groom. We can laser engrave names, dates, monograms, or whatever else you had in mine to make your gift personal and special. We can even scan in a wedding invitation to recreate design elements to your piece directly from the invitation. The way we see it.. if the bride and groom chose a design for their invitation, they must love it! We also enjoy working with brides and grooms to help them create memorable gifts for their bridesmaids, groomsman, and wedding favors for all of their guests.
Bulk Quantities:
Please reach out to us if you are interested in ordering a particular item from us in a volume outside of what is available on our website. While we create new patterns and items for general inventory in lower quantities, we are always happy to specifically batch mostly any of our items in a dedicated larger batch to accommodate your needs. In addition, we are sometimes able to offer a slightly discounted pricing structure for larger volume orders of like items.
Wholesale:
Colors Of The Wood is not always able to offer wholesale pricing because of the unique handmade quality of our items and time it takes to create each piece. However, some items do lend themselves well to a wholesale structure. We are excited for the opportunity to showcase Colors Of The Wood products in your store or business, so please reach out to us directly and we would be happy discuss what we are able to offer.
